I was born in Los Angeles in 1958, and raised in Downey, California. My family was a group of creative individuals, whose encouragement inspired me to develop my own artistic voice.

During my formative years, I learned oil painting from my father, a bacteriologist and amateur oil painter. At age 8,
my interest in photography began when I was given a Kodak brownie camera from my mother. At age ten I began working in my first darkroom. My paternal grandmother, who was a gift basket designer, taught me the fundamentals of design. As a child, I studied woodworking and metalwork with my paternal grandfather in his shop!

In high school I took over a dozen art classes, then at the tender age of 17 & two months, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. My service to my country included working as an accounting clerk, and administration clerk, as well as a tour on the island of Okinawa.

After earning an honorable discharge, I attended Cerritos College for a while. I studied art, criminal justice, and business. I left college in 1985 to start a successful Neon design business. I continued my art studies by serving a two year apprentice with Jose Sanchez, a Master Neon bender from El Salvador.

Over the years, I’ve taught art workshops and classes at the Downey Museum of Art, Norwalk Cultural Arts Center, Discovery Museum of Orange County, and the TGT after school enrichment program in Long Beach.

I was the gallery director for Sunyata Gallery in San Pedro (2000/02) and then assistant director of the Don O’Melveny Gallery in Los Angeles (2002-07).

From 2017-19) I was the art curator at the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in Temecula.

Since my first solo show at the Downey Museum of Art in 1995, I have exhibited my work in numerous group and solo shows.
In 2022 my work was in a group exhibition at the Torrance Art Museum, and last year I had 18 works in a group show at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.

I currently work at Metalography Art Gallery in Temecula, and continue to pursue my art career ⚡️⚡️⚡️
